Ministry Practicum Requirement
What is Ministry Practicum?
Students are required to serve in their local church as:
- A volunteer minister of helps (e.g., as a greeter, usher, Sunday school assistant, youth worker, nursery attendant, etc.), or;
- A paid staff member
1st through 3rd year students are required to serve a minimum of 72 hours during each year of their program of study. Ministry practicum hours must be valid ministry work authorized by the church. Working in a paid ministerial capacity at a church also qualifies. This requirement is not met by participating in a ministry, but only by serving in the ministry. It does not include student or other ministries independent of a local church. This service, verified by a church leader, earns the student 3 credit-hours.
4th year students must fulfill their ministry practicum requirement in a leadership position. These hours can be fulfilled by either as volunteer work or as paid employment.
NOTE: Ministry Practicum credit will only be granted after a student has completed 9 courses at The Crossing Bible College.
The attached form must be completed entirely, signed by a church leader and submitted at the end of each course. Please email scanned version to TCBC@crossingonline.org.
